armstrong bros' roles

The guys wrote lyrics and performed for the scenes Tucker's Amazing Ability, Squirt Some Mayo On It, and Somebody Stole My Dog.  They also have a cut on the extended soundtrack called Chicken Leg Rap.  Throughout the project, Ben helped with story development; and both he, John and Kenny created a needed transitional song called Somebody Stole My Dog.

Their humor and musical talent won them first place in the Thoughtful Guy cover contest.  Ben, John, and Kenny can thank their dad for introducing them to both music and Rhett and Link.

Lead singer and oldest brother Ben says his earliest memories are of his dad playing Beatles songs on guitar.  Since he always wanted to be just like his dad, he wanted to learn how to do the same.  Ben got his chance eight years ago when his youth pastor Brian offered a 12-week guitar class. Twenty kids sat in a circle as Brian taught them classics like "Amazing Grace" and "Old Rugged Cross." Since then, Ben has not only learned Beatles songs but songwriting as well.

John's been playing drums for three years and has since learned guitar, bass, and keyboard, too.  He played every instrument on the Armstrongs'  three Gutless Wonders songs.  Ben says of John, "He's much more musically minded than I am. He's very detail oriented and he spends a lot of time to make our songs sound their best."

Kenny, the youngest, has helped out with a few songs but for now, the band is mainly Ben and John.  The guys are all Rhett and Link fans from way back.  Ben says:
Our dad works at WRAL, a local TV news station in Raleigh NC. Several years ago, Rhett and Link visited the station to perform their BBQ song. Our dad told us about them and showed us a lot of their videos. We've been fans ever since. Our favorite Rhett and Link song is definitely the Facebook Song. It was the first Rhett and Link song we ever heard, and it still makes us laugh every time we listen to it.
